Glenelg Yacht Club, South Australia

Regional Moorings

Glenelg Yacht Club has been very busy making arrangements with relevant government bodies, and private individuals to establish a series of moorings in the areas where our members travel. Not only are moorings much safer than anchoring, they are essential in circumstances such as gale force winds, very rough seas, or where the seabed simply does not allow for safe anchoring. We are applying to install moorings right across Kangaroo Island (north), Yorke Peninsula, as well as Eyre Peninsula and the Gambier and Sir Joseph Group of islands As work progresses, we hope to add more, so check back soon. Club moorings use is free for all members and for non- members alike. If you believe this is a worthwhile effort, please consider contributing through our ‘Go Fund Me’ page.
